How to Get a Costume (Last Minute Options)
Many major bands will be sold out, but there are still ways to secure a costume:
- Check costume resales – People sometimes sell their costumes last-minute in Facebook groups, Instagram, or sites like Fine Ah Ban. Additionally, bands may offer costumes at a discount that haven’t been picked up or fully paid for after the official deadline..
- Go Monday wear only – If you can’t get a full costume for Pretty Mas on the Tuesday, you can still jump up on the road on Carnival Monday.
- For the first time ever, Caesar’s Army will be on the road Carnival Monday, hosting a drinks-inclusive experience with Monday wear options and a Monday night mas (after-road party) experience.
- Price: $270-$345 USD (TTD$2300–TTD$1800). Tickets can be purchased here.
- Consider small or emerging bands – Some lesser-known bands may still have costumes available!
- DIY your look – If you can’t secure a band costume, grab your flag, add a few Carnival accessories to your outfit, and still join in on the vibes!
Fete Tickets – Where to Find Last-Minute Access
Most top-tier fetes sell out months in advance, but you still have options:
- Resale groups – Check social media, WhatsApp resale groups, and sites like Fine Ah Ban for people selling tickets.
- General admission or door sales – Some fetes offer a limited number of tickets at the door.
- Alternative parties – If big-name fetes are sold out, look for smaller events that still bring the vibes!
- Network on the ground – If you’re in Trinidad, ask around—sometimes locals have extra tickets available.
- Be cautious with resales – Scammers do exist, so double-check the legitimacy of re-sellers before purchasing.
Here are a few of the hottest fetes to look out for this year:
- Sunrise Breakfast Party
- Stink and Dutty Road
- Caesar’s Army AMBush
- Citrus All Inclusive
- Nectar All Inclusive
- Caeser’s Army AMBeach

Getting Around Trinidad During Carnival
Getting around during Carnival can be hectic, so plan your transport wisely:
- Use registered taxis or rideshare services – Avoid random taxis and stick to safe transport options like:
- Pink Cab TT – A safe ride service in Trinidad, especially for women.
- TT Rideshare – A local alternative to Uber/Lyft.
- Drop Taxi Service – A reliable taxi option in Trinidad.
- Caribbean Taxi Service – Another trusted local provider.
- Carpool with other attendees – Connect with fellow Carnival-goers to share rides and cut costs.
- Book ahead when possible – Secure airport transfers and fete transport in advance if you can.
- Stay near the action – If you’re close to major events, walking may be the best option!
Packing Essentials (Even for Last-Minute Travelers)
Even if you packed in a rush, don’t forget these must-haves:
- Comfortable sneakers for the road – Avoid new shoes to prevent blisters—consider going up half or a full size for extra comfort since you’ll be chipping down the road all day!
- Sneakers you don’t mind getting dirty – Perfect for J’Ouvert! Wear them, destroy them, and toss them after. If you bring home your J’Ouvert shoes, you didn’t do it right! 😂
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat (if the hairstyle permits) – Protect yourself from the blazing sun.
- Portable charger – You’ll want your phone alive for all the Carnival moments.
- A crossbody or leg bag – Keep your essentials secure while on the road.
- My favorite road essential bag is sold by MRCHBYNICO
- A travel steamer – This has come in sooo handy for getting wrinkles out of fete outfits after packing.
- Nipple covers – Essential if you’re wearing a costume on the road!
Road Safety Tips
Carnival is fun, but safety comes first! Here are some key tips:
- Use the buddy system – Stay with friends and look out for each other.
- Share your location – Keep friends updated on where you are.
- Have an emergency meet-up spot – In case someone gets lost, agree on a landmark to meet up at! (e.g. VIP truck, AC bus, etc.)
- Stay hydrated – Alcohol and sun don’t mix well—drink plenty of water!
- Eat regularly – Fuel your body with food during your lunch stop to keep up with the non-stop energy.
Embrace the Vibes & Enjoy!
Even if your Carnival trip wasn’t perfectly planned, you can still have an unforgettable experience. Be flexible, go with the flow, and soak in every moment. The road, the music, and the energy of Trinidad Carnival will make up for any last-minute stress!
